CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
Currently our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme is supporting the charity Assert.
Angelman Syndrome Support Education and Research Trust (Assert) is a UK based charity with primary aims to;
-
Support – supporting families and carers of people with Angelman Syndrome (AS).
-
Education – providing education and raising awareness of this rare neurological condition and the issues that surround it.
-
Research – assisting many organisations and individuals in carrying out research into Angelman Syndrome and its many related areas.
Angelman Syndrome is very close to the heart of FQM Director Chris Docherty as his youngest child was diagnosed with the condition in 2009.
In addition, we support Prostate Cancer UK, who fund research into the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of prostate cancer, while supporting those already diagnosed.
Currently, prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, with one man dying from the disease every hour.
FQM’s Dean Wiseman, like many other people, has lost relatives and close friends to this horrible disease.
Like most other cancers early diagnosis plays a huge part in survival rates. Keeping on top of health checks and open discussion on the topic is made a lot easier by raising awareness, taking the edge off the topic and making the conversation more socially acceptable.
We also support ‘Not for Landfill’. The Not for Landfill campaign was launched by One Stop Waste Solutions in April 2016 and aims to help businesses support the Scottish Government’s ‘Zero Waste’ objectives.
FQM is proud to commit its support to the ‘Not for Landfill’ campaign and actively try to reduce the amount of waste we produce, while promoting the benefits of doing so.
